Part of our mission as a Catholic School is to teach children the importance of prayer, instill in their lives the habit of prayer, and also teach them our traditional and common prayers. Here are some of the prayers we focus on during the school day.

Morning Offering (At the start of every day)

Heavenly Father, I give you today, all that I think and do and say.

I give you my love, with Jesus your son,

I will try to be kind, and love everyone. Amen

(Preceded and followed by the Sign of the Cross.)

Prayer Before Meals (Before Lunch)

"Bless us, O Lord, and these, Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen."

(Preceded and followed by the Sign of the Cross.)

Act of Contrition (At the end of every day)

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.

I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.

(Preceded and followed by the Sign of the Cross.)

Angel of God (Before recess, at the end of the day, on Fridays)

Angel of God,

my guardian dear,

to whom God’s love commits me here,

ever this day be at my side,

to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed (Before Religion class)

I believe in God the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son,

our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell; the third day

He rose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven and sits at

the right hand of God the Father

almighty, from thence He shall come

to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy Catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body

and life everlasting.

Amen

Hail Mary

Hail Mary full of grace

The Lord is with you.

Blessed are you among women

And Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners

Now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

(Preceded and followed by the Sign of the Cross.)

The Lord’s Prayer (anytime)

Our Father who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be the name.

Thy Kingdom come,

Thy will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil,

Amen

(Preceded and followed by the Sign of the Cross.)

The Memorare (October and May)

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,

that never was it known

that anyone who fled to thy protection,

implored thy help,

or sought thy intercession,

was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence

I fly unto thee,

O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.

To thee do I come,

before thee I stand,

sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,

despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.
