Principal Notes

Dear Parents,
Our new music teacher, Mr. Terence Panganiban, started today. He brings experience teaching at both Catholic and public schools and has served as music director at Masses at several parishes. He is committed to helping students enhance their talents and interests in music, performance, and personal growth. Please welcome him to our community with the same warmth and respect that you show all of our staff. I look forward to working with him as he brings a new perspective to our music program.
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. We will attend mass in the morning and receive ashes. An interesting article about the purpose of ashes and almsgiving during Lent is linked here.
In his first message for Lent, Pope Leo XIV asked us to "cultivate kindness and respect in our families, among our friends, at work, on social media, in political debates, in the media, and in Christian communities. In this way, words of hatred will give way to words of hope and peace."
It seems to me that “cultivating kindness and respect” wherever we go is a good goal for Lent, and if the Pope asks me to do this, then I will do my best.
We’re in for a rainy week, so slow down, drive carefully, and appreciate that rain is necessary.
Have a blessed week,
Jennifer
