The special needs mass and fair was held February 18th in the hall and church. During the 9:15 AM mass, there was a special blessing given to all. The mass was performed by Father Joe and Father Alfredo with the help of our fellow community members. This day was special because we got to honor those with special needs. The fair held in the hall was also a delight. There were booths, tables, and food. There everyone no matter who you were could join in celebrating the wonderful life God gave us. This is how we should live our everyday lives; in unity and peace. Caitlyn Lee recently held a poster competition for decoration in the fair. As alumni of SPAS, and now a student at Mayfield Senior, she is apart of the special needs committee at the parish. The point of the competition was to draw a poster showing how we are all equal no matter how we look. There were so many submissions and the hall was brightly decorated with inspiring posters. Joshua in 7th grade won the flier competition when it was announced at Monday assembly. It is very important to remember we are no different than those with disabilities. God made us all with a special vision and purpose for our being. I hope there are more events in the future like this meaningful special needs fair and mass.
